Recruit PKB: NCAA Regionals

On Monday, April 27 teams found out their fate in regards to making it to the NCAA Regional tournaments. Below is a link to both the Division I and Division II selections. This is a great opportunity for those who are currently communicating with these coaches to reach out to them and wish them good luck. Also make sure you check out to see how the team finished at their conference tournament. For those of you who follow me on social media it was an exciting couple of weeks with many of my college and tour friends leading their teams to conference championships. It doesn't feel that long ago that we were all still in college competing against each other and now they are leading their own teams to championships. And I was very excited to see my alma mater, Furman University, capture the SoCon title, Go [...]

Recruit PKB: What is the complete golfer?

The complete golfer is a player who maximizes their current skills and fundamentals to their fullest potential. They learn how to practice efficiently, develop short game creativity, manage their way around the course, minimize their mistakes and remain mentally tough. Proper technique with a golf swing is only one of the many elements of a successful golfer. If you ask a college coach what most junior golfers lack when they arrive on campus, the response tends to center around short game, work ethic, on course management and mental toughness. It is rarely skill and technique level. The complete golfer also understands that proper nutrition, exercise, time management, good attitude and a balanced life are all a part of being a successful golfer. Learning to become the complete golfer takes self discipline, hard work and accountability. You will learn how to make each practice session, whether on the [...]

Recruit PKB: What Jordan Taught Us

What an exciting week it has been in the golf world. I was fortunate enough to snag my dad's Masters tickets and head down there on Thursday with one of my girls. We had a great time! The atmosphere and energy there is truly a "tradition unlike any other". But most importantly, I believe this past week has taught all of us a lot about what being the "complete golfer" really means through Jordan Spieth. He embodies so many qualities that a young golfer can look up to. It is not just about being a great golfer, it's about the appreciation for the opportunities you are given to play the game and the ways you can use golf to become a better person. It's very easy to get wrapped up in your own success, your own goals and your own frustrations but you must always remember what [...]

Recruit PKB: Bad Breaks and Excuses

If there is one thing inevitable about every golfer, it's that at some point in time they are going to get a bad break on the golf course. It may be a bad kick, a divot in the middle of the fairway, a buried lie in the sand or a putt lipping out. Probably the most fun and exciting part of the game of golf is the amount of good and bad breaks that can happen during a round. There are so many elements on the golf course, that nature is bound to throw you a few "unfair" bounces and lies on occasion. This past week during the ANA Inspiration, the LPGA's first major of the year, Stacy Lewis and Brittany Lincicome were on the 3rd playoff hole when Stacy's lay up shot to the par 5 came to rest in a sand fill divot. Obviously very [...]
