I wanted to take some time to talk about the importance of getting started with the process the right way — with direction and guidance that’s specific to you, your goals, and your expectations.
Through the RecruitPKB Platform, there are several ways I can help you do exactly that. Over the next few weeks, I’ll also be walking through the main steps of the recruiting process that I believe every recruit should follow — but first, let’s start here.
What Is an Evaluation or Consultation, and Why Does It Matter?
Yes, we offer both free and paid consultation services through the RecruitPKB Platform — but the reason I’m highlighting this as a starting point has nothing to do with the services themselves. It’s because having expert guidance from the very beginning helps you navigate this process far more effectively and efficiently. Whether it’s one of the other college golf consultants out there or myself, I strongly recommend starting here if at all possible.
This is not a one-size-fits-all process. There is no single blueprint that works for every recruit. While some basic steps apply across the board, understanding the process as it relates to your specific timeline, abilities, goals, expectations, and parameters will significantly increase your chances of finding the right fit.
It also matters to have someone in your corner who is non-biased and not emotionally invested in the outcome. Parents are their child’s biggest cheerleaders — and that’s a beautiful thing — but it can sometimes blur the line between what feels possible and what is truly realistic for that student-athlete. Having an objective, experienced third party helps connect the dots between a player’s physical game, mental toughness, maturity, work ethic, coachability, academics, social expectations, and the realities of the recruiting timeline.
Even if you feel confident navigating the process on your own, I highly recommend at least one conversation with a qualified expert who has guided many players through this journey and seen them go on to compete at the collegiate level. Even a few targeted suggestions or added steps can make a real difference in a competitive recruiting landscape.
Here are the three ways to get started:
Intro to the Process Consultation (Free for National PKBGT Members): A 30-minute consultation covering the foundational steps every recruit needs to take to get the process moving in the right direction.
RecruitPKB GamePlan: Are you ready to dive deeper? This option is ideal for recruits who already have their resume and have started the process but want to make sure they are doing everything correctly. Includes a 60 min Zoom call, plus a detailed review of your resume, intro email, and school list, plus specific feedback and a clear path forward.
RecruitPKB GetReady: Are you ready to get started with the process? This option is ideal for recruits just starting out without a resume or initial coach communication. Includes a 60 min Zoom call, plus access to build and create a resume with templates for initial emails and access to a women’s golf college program research and email system.
RecruitPKB GetRecruited: The most comprehensive option. We will spend approximately 3-4 hours together assessing your game, gathering the information/video needed for your resume, plus all that is included with the “GetReady” package to get you ready to start the process more efficiently and effectively.
If any of these options interest you, follow the links above and complete my online questionnaire. From there, I’ll reach out with your next steps, and we can get started.
