This new service offers advice from our college consultant, insight into the recruiting experience and ways to become a more complete golfer. Our network of over 650 PKBGT alumni in the college ranks along with our resource center can help you on your way to playing college golf.

RecruitPKB: End of Dead Period Part 3
Based on the timing of the NCAA rules, with the COVID dead period recently ending, you will need to schedule and take visits so that you can meet with the coaches and get a chance to see if it’s going to be a good fit. While visits, especially official visits, are more often being offered on the coaches’ end, you can still request to take an unofficial visit. Be prepared for your visits if you are meeting with the coach. Use the research you did before to have topics of discussion. Be sure you are up to date on how the team played this past season. Make sure you have questions to ask and that you are prepared for any questions you may get asked. Get to know the coach as much as possible. Be observant and attentive. Be gracious and courteous. As you may know, the Covid implemented Dead Period will end on May 31, which means for the first time in over a year DI college coaches can recruit again! This also, means you can take visits that will allow you to meet the coach and athletic staff. For the next couple of weeks, I am going to do some refreshers on these areas to help you better prepare for these exciting experiences! Since you as parents may be out of practice or it will be a new experience to have a coach watch your daughter, I want to give a few tips on what the coaches look for and hope to see in potential recruit's parent behavior. This week I celebrate 10 years of Brandi Jackson Golf (and 8 of those years have been spent as the RecruitPKB College Consultant here at PKB Girls Tour). As I celebrate this milestone I wanted to just share a little for those who may not know my story and how I ended up here. But more importantly to say a big thank you to all of you and to the PKB Girls Tour because it has been an absolute honor and blessing to be in this role and I look for so much more to come! Many 2024 and 2025 recruits are making their decisions now or will be in the coming months, but before you begin to eliminate options that may not seem as ideal, make sure you have a definite offer to at least one school of your choice. Also, do not get confused about what may simply be a potential offer or the assumption you are at the top of the coach's recruiting list until you know for sure. I’ve seen this be a major issue with some recruits not understanding the difference between a potential offer at some point in the process and a definite offer actually given to you to accept. Also, some recruits may not realize that a coach is telling multiple recruits very similar things until he/she makes their decision on who they want to actually give their offer to.
