Every junior golfer is at a different place in the college recruiting process but there are some basic steps that you need to follow in order to get started. Learn the NCAA rules and regulations – A student-athlete who knows the rules of college recruiting will not only impress a coach but also be able to better navigate the process and not get confused. Now that the excitement of September 1st has worn off a bit I want to take the time to address a few things that you can learn from the communication you received (or didn't receive) on September 1st and how it can be a lesson for your own communication with the coaches. Nguyen Wins MD State Girls Title

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- OCTOBER 24, 2012 After finishing as the girls’ state runner-up the past two years, Atholton junior Bryana Nguyen was so fearful of another disappointment that her hands trembled while she attempted a seven-foot putt on the final hole. Nguyen sank the shot to secure a one-stroke victory with a two-day score of 73-71 — 144. “I was so relieved when the ball went in and it was over,” Nguyen said. “The girl I lost to the last two years graduated, so it would have been a shame if I couldn’t get it done this year.” Just behind her was Wootton’s Delaney Shah, who used four birdies on Wednesday to fire a final score of 3-over-par 145 and help deliver the Patriots’ team title.
